Frustration, party of one?

That’s me!

I am so unbelievably-can’t-even-put-into-words excited about going on holiday Thursday. I haven’t had any (substantial) time off work since New Year’s so a break is more than needed, especially after the insane 3 months I’ve had. It feels like I haven’t looked up from my monitors at work in absolute ages, and that’s probably true. Now that I’m all caught up on the project I’ve been so engrossed in it’s nice to be able to breathe (and have something to look forward to!).

The Hubby and I are off to Espanõl for a week over Easter, seeing the in-laws and then roaming about on our own for a few days. It is a well deserved break for both of us, this year has been so hectic I honestly have no clue where the past nearly 4 months have gone!

I guess a lot has been going on, but most of it is just normal, everyday stuff that is boring boring boring. I go to the gym. I try to eat well. I get put on weight loss pills. I see no improvement. Well, not no improvement, but much slower improvement than I was expecting.

So I tweaked things a little bit. This week is the mark of Phase 2 on the South Beach Diet for Hubby and I. I’ve lost 4lbs in the last 2 weeks on Phase 1 and have had weigh-ins with both my GP and the gym last week so we will see how the next month goes. I am motivated and will be mostly good on holiday!

I finally changed my hair colour (yeah, again!).

Blonde…

The blonde is gone!

Maybe a copper is better?

So I went a copper-y red. That lasted a month. It’s not that I didn’t like it, but I didn’t love it. And certainly not right away. After a few weeks and it had faded a bit I liked it more, but still wasn’t lovin’ on the copper.

So…

Vixen!

I went a bit darker! This I loved straight away. It’s actually a little bit darker than I was anticipating, but it has faded nicely so far and will be sure to fade a lot more over the next week in Spain with all the sunshine!

Maybe I’ll stick with this one longer than a month? 🙂

I did see CAKE live in London last month! That was amazing and probably the most enjoyable gig I’ve been in a long time. It was all to do with my positioning. We managed to get there earlyish (before most people anyway) and I was right at the front of the second tier (and right behind the sound and light guys) so could see perfectly and wasn’t too far away! The guy I was with even managed to protect me from getting fondled and smooshed by everyone behind us. 😀

Me and Hubby had to take our friend to our fave eat – Las Iguanas. We had 5 dishes of tapas and managed to not eat it all between us. It was epic.

Tapas at Las Iguanas

Some other really great eats/accomplishments over the past few months…

White Chocolate and Brownie Torte

This torte was so easy to make (only 3-4 ingredients!) and was the most A-MAZ-ING thing I’ve ever created.

Pancakes must be had on Pancake Day

We managed to not completely screw up the pancakes (crepes really…) this year. I had nutella and banana, peanut butter and strawberry jam on mine. With a drizzle of maple syrup, of course.

My most favourite comfort food evar.

I cheated a little bit on the cheese sauce and didn’t make that from scratch, but I did make macaroni cheese! I added turkey mince as well, I always remember when I was younger we would add ground beef to it. It turned out soo lush. I was very impressed! Now I just need to tackle making the sauce.

Mmm steak

I’m not allowed steak very often since Hubby doesn’t eat it at all. But when I have it I sure do enjoy it! I have had it twice during Phase 1 of SBD and both times it was incredible! And such an easy meal, steak and some veg, perfect.

Lunch!

On top of my lovely 2 page long list of work (which is now all done yippee!) sits my yummy lunch. With roast chicken, smoked gouda, lettuce, tomato and mustard it was perfect. Oh and jelly for afters!

Salad Beast!

My own salad beast. I think this was the yummiest salad I’ve had in a loooong time and it was possibly those fire cashews on top that made it that much more enjoyable!

I get a box every Monday at work from graze.com, which is just little snacky bits, dried fruit, nuts, seeds, etc. which usually gets me through the week. I have a nice stash now of little snacks for when I feel nibbly that are still good for me! If you’d like a free box you can enter this code: 3XNW26MA (they are £3.49 each).
