It’s been 16 days since I’ve done any exercise now, so my recovery time from Insanity is done.
During Insanity I was doing more exercise than I’ve ever been used to doing, and it felt amazing and had more benefits than I realised, the linch pin was stabilising my mood.
I noticed it a little during the two months, but I’ve noticed it more the past two weeks when I wasn’t exercising that my mood has deteriorated immensely. I have always known that exercise can improve mood and help with depression, but have never felt the effects so much as now and it really is incredible. I’ve had a lot of friends and family tell me how happy I am recently, with someone even saying that I’m a completely different person than I was just 3 months ago, in both body and mind!
All that good stuff came from Insanity, and I love it. Not doing anything the past few weeks has been a welcome rest but has also taken a toll on my mental well-being.
So on to my next challenge this year!
Tomorrow I’m doing the Fit Test for P90X and will start it on Tuesday. I’ve heard very mixed reviews about P90X, but I’m willing to give it a go. I’m going to do the ‘Lean’ version for my first go, to maximise weight loss while increasing my strength and muscle. I’m going to mostly follow the nutrition guidelines as well this time around and see what happens.
I’ve done my measurements today and am starting with 63.6% body fat at 232.4 lbs and the goal for the next three months is to get my body fat down to 50% and lose 17lbs.
Let’s do this! 🙂
