Bank Holiday FTW!

One of the wonderful perks of living outside of the US is that today is a holiday! Over in England we aren’t robbed of our New Year’s Day (or Christmas Day) holiday just because it’s on a weekend! <3

So, 3 days into the New Year and I have to say nothing feels new yet. I wonder if it’s me getting older or just because I have drama which continues unabated.

I finally got up the courage to get on the scale on Saturday and my god I really wish I hadn’t! Being ill this past month has been horrible and because of that I haven’t worked out since sometime during the early part of the second week of December. Bad, bad, bad I know. But not being able to breathe and having a fever kinda trumps going to the gym or doing anything much more than laying around feeling very horrible and sorry for myself. So there you go.

So the crappy number the scale decided to show me definitely motivated me to get a move on and the first thing we did was go food shopping. You know the food you’ve been eating is particularly crap when Hubby doesn’t complain about only healthy foods going in the trolley. And then there was the salad that he made by choice for lunch today as well! I was in shock, but so proud. ๐Ÿ™‚

Yesterday I felt ill when I tried to eat most things so didn’t eat a lot. I did begin the 28 Day Cardio Bootcamp on Sparkpeople.com, though. So thankfully am finally getting some exercise in! Today I was able to eat normal again, but my poor tummy still isn’t right. But hey, I took pictures!

I forgot to do my cereal this morning, but it was yummy.

Lunch was a cup of tomato & veg soup and homemade sweet potato fries (which Hubby enjoyed as well and that was another shock!):

Dinner was noodles w/ chicken and spicy chili sauce with a side salad and lime juice for flavour:

Then a small piece of Christmas Cake (homemade by Hubby’s aunt!) as a treat. I hadn’t had any of this yet and it was very nice!

All in all, a good food day. I also had a snack – some chili rice crackers which are very addictive and were gone before I could get a photo! Thankfully they come in small packages. ๐Ÿ˜‰

As everyone starts to complain about having to go back to work tomorrow I am reveling in the fact that I have this week off! There are a few things I want to get done this week:

  • Hang up the curtains in the lounge
  • Hang up the pictures in the hall
  • Conjure up an Inspiration Board (a-la Fitnessista style)
  • Get my Pali to level 85
  • Clean the whole house (and get rid of a lot of crap)
  • See one of my Besties on Friday
  • Get my hair done Saturday
  • Be well rested and refreshed and ready to tackle work when I return next week (and the promptly go to Belfast for an overnighter!)
  • Get back to the gym
  • Start running again

It’s an ambitious list, I know. I’m sure I will get it all done ๐Ÿ™‚
