It’s been almost 3 full weeks since I gave up cow’s milk dairy products. I quickly adapted to using almond, soy and oat milk, all of which are good for various things and pretty darn yummy. Chocolate oat milk is delish in a protein shake w/ a banana. Almond milk is good with berries in my shakes, and in porridge, etc. Vanilla soy milk is the most delish thing in my coffee EVAR. I don’t need to have sugar in my coffee anymore, just that. It’s so amazing.

Today I had oats with chocolate oat milk, protein powder, a tiny bit of dark brown sugar and cinnamon and some soy milk for breakfast. And I tired soy vanilla yogurt with my snack of apple and grapes and it was the best. Yogurt. Ever.

My instagram lately is pretty much all photos of my food. Or my 700ml water bottle full of fresh fruit to liven it up a bit.

I have yet to adapt to a non-dairy cheese but found a shop online that does non-animal cheese (so soy again) called sheese! And they do all different kinds, so I’m going to give that a go soon. That will cover all my bases then!
I still have the very occasional dairy, for instance if we go out or get take away. I think in the past 3 weeks I’ve had proper milk and cheese maybe 3 times, two of which were in my coffee because I didn’t have soy on hand.
I’m loving it. I don’t miss cheese, or normal milk. I don’t feel like I’m deprived of those things, they just aren’t something I need right now. I don’t get bloated anymore when I eat. My stomach feels happier and I like that. 🙂
So I’ll just say for the record: sometimes Hubby is right. I don’t know why I didn’t make the move sooner, but I’m glad he convinced me to try it. (He’ll never let me live this down!!)
