Bonjour et Au revoir

View of the Eiffel Tower from Pere-Lachaise

So, Paris. I won’t say I’ve been longing to go to Paris for my whole life and been in love with all things French or Parisian or anything, because it would all be lies.

But yes, I wanted to go to Paris. It’s right there, right on my doorstep practically. Of course I wanted to go!

It is a beautiful city. The architecture, the parks, the landscape… so pretty.

My favourite place was Cimetiere du Père-Lachaise. It was the most peaceful place, even with the handfuls of tourists you encountered. It was like a safe haven in a city full of con artists and tourist traps designed to put you off. It was perfect.

We did a lot of walking, so much so that it may have dampened my mood because man, did my feet hurt! We found the best Mexican food I’ve ever eaten – even with the hottest chili sauce I’ve ever had in my life. So good! I think it is our life mission to find a good Mexican place everywhere we go, no matter where we are.

louvre

We spent the bulk of our second day in the Louvre (more walking!). And then we were so ready to come home.

It’s a beautiful place, and I’m happy to have seen it. It’s a shame about the people – the crowds, the unfriendly vibes and all. The. Scammers. Sheesh!

I don’t really have much more to say about it. At least hubby is happy I’ll stop nagging to go now 🙂

Au Revoir, Paris!
